150g Chinese yam
50g apple
30g carrot
1 egg yolk (can be replaced with formula milk for younger babies or allergy concerns)
Unsweetened coconut flakes (for coating)
Prepare the Ingredients:
Dice the yam, apple, and carrot into small chunks. Place in a steamer basket.
Steam Until Tender:
Bring water to a boil and steam the diced mixture over medium heat for 15 minutes, or until all pieces are soft enough to be pierced easily with chopsticks.
Mash and Mix:
While still hot, mash the mixture using a fork until smooth. Mix in the egg yolk to create a creamy, cohesive dough.
Form the Balls:
Take about 20g of the warm mash and gently roll it into a round ball using your hands.
Coat with Coconut:
Roll each ball over a plate of coconut flakes until fully coated.
Serve or Customize:
Serve immediately as soft finger food for babies 8 months and up.
For babies 12+ months, stuff with soft cheese before rolling.
