100g steamed pumpkin (mashed)
100g glutinous rice flour
30g corn starch
160g milk
15g cooking oil
Sugar to taste
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Cooked glutinous rice flour for dusting (optional, to prevent stickiness)
Steam & Mash Pumpkin:
Steam pumpkin until soft, then mash it thoroughly while still warm.
Prepare the Dough Base:
In a mixing bowl, combine mashed pumpkin, glutinous rice flour, corn starch, milk, cooking oil, and sugar. Stir well until smooth and fully combined.
Steam the Mixture:
Pour the mixture into a heatproof container and steam for about 30 minutes until firm and slightly glossy on the surface.
Add Butter & Mix:
While the mixture is still hot, add butter and stir or knead it in until it melts and is fully incorporated.
Knead & Shape:
Once slightly cooled, knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Shape into bite-sized pieces or small round buns.
Dust & Finish:
Lightly coat each piece with cooked glutinous rice flour to prevent sticking. Store in a sealed container to keep them soft.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Best enjoyed at room temperature or lightly warmed.
