Ingredients:

  • Dough:

    • 200g all-purpose flour
    • 2g yeast
    • 115g warm water
  • Filling:

    • 120g minced pork
    • 1 small carrot (blanched and finely chopped)
    • 50g mushrooms (blanched and finely chopped)
    • 1 stalk green onion (chopped)
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce
    • ½ tsp mushroom powder
    • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine 200g of flour and 2g of yeast.
    • Gradually add 115g of warm water while stirring until the mixture becomes shaggy and flocculent.
    • Knead the dough until smooth, then cover it with plastic wrap and let it ferment in a warm place until it doubles in size and develops a honeycomb structure.
  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • In another bowl, mix minced pork, chopped carrots, mushrooms, and green onions.
    • Add soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, mushroom powder, and cooking oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the Rolls:

    • Roll out the fermented dough into a thin rectangular sheet.
    • Evenly spread the meat mixture over the dough.
    • Roll the dough tightly from one edge to the other, forming a log.
    • Cut the roll into evenly-sized pieces. For each piece, use chopsticks to press the center gently, then rotate the chopsticks and pinch the two ends together to form a flower shape. Carefully pull out the chopsticks.
  4. Steam the Rolls:

    • Place the flower rolls in a steamer lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
    • Allow the rolls to undergo a second fermentation for 15 minutes.
    • Steam the rolls over medium heat for 15 minutes. After turning off the heat, let the rolls rest for another 3 minutes before opening the lid.
  5. Serve:

    • Remove the rolls from the steamer and garnish with extra green onion, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy their fluffy texture and savory filling!
