Ingredients:
2 bowls plain flour
1 tbsp white sugar
5g yeast powder
1 egg
½ tbsp cooking oil (plus extra for frying)
1 bowl water
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast powder. Add the egg, cooking oil, and water. Stir with chopsticks until no dry flour remains. Knead into a smooth ball, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until doubled in size.
Shape the Pancakes: Lightly oil a cutting board. Transfer the risen dough and gently shape it into a long strip. Divide into 5–6 equal pieces, roll into balls, and let them rest for 5 minutes. Flatten each ball into a thin pancake.
Cook the Pancakes: Preheat a greased pan over medium heat. Place a pancake in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Drizzle a little oil on top, flip, and cook until both sides are golden brown and slightly puffed.
Serve: Enjoy warm as a light meal or snack. Best served fresh for maximum fluffiness.
