Ingredients:
1000g all-purpose flour
10g active dry yeast
8g baking powder
80g sugar
8g salt
4 eggs
320g milk
60g corn oil
120g honey
Instructions:
Make the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Stir to mix evenly.
Add Wet Ingredients:
Crack in the eggs, pour in milk and corn oil, then add honey. Mix thoroughly until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough:
Knead the dough by hand or using a stand mixer for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Divide & Shape:
Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces and roll each piece into a smooth ball.
Rest:
Place dough balls in an oiled pan, cover lightly, and let them rest for 10 minutes.
Form Strips:
Roll each ball into a long strip about 50 cm long. Take one strip, roll the left end upward and the right end downward to let it coil naturally.
Create Twists:
Take a second strip and repeat the same motion. Place the two strips together and twist them in opposite directions to form a braid.
Secure the Shape:
Fold the twisted dough by placing the left end at one-third of the length. Press the right end over to lock the twist, and pinch the ends together to secure.
Final Rest (Optional):
Let the braided dough rest briefly while heating oil.
Fry the Buns:
Heat oil in a deep pan to 160–170°C (320–340°F). Fry the buns in batches until they are golden brown on all sides, flipping as needed.
Serve:
Drain on paper towels and enjoy warm, or let cool and store in an airtight container.
