300g all-purpose flour
10g white sugar
4g dry yeast
2 eggs
120g warm water
A handful of chopped green onions
Cooking oil (for frying)
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine 300g flour, 10g sugar, 4g yeast, 2 eggs, and 120g warm water. Mix and knead into a smooth and soft dough.
Step 2: Roll and Fill
Roll out the dough into a large, thin rectangular sheet. Sprinkle a generous handful of chopped green onions evenly across the surface.
Step 3: Shape the Dough
Roll up the dough tightly from one end like a jelly roll. Then gently roll or press it into a thicker sheet. Use the mouth of a cup or a round cutter to press and cut out evenly sized rounds.
Step 4: Ferment
Place the dough rounds on a tray. Cover with plastic wrap and allow them to ferment in a warm place until doubled in size.
Step 5: Pan-Fry to Perfection
Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Carefully place the risen buns in the pan and fry until both sides are golden brown and puffed. They should spring back slightly when pressed.
Step 6: Serve
Remove from heat and serve warm. Enjoy the crispy exterior and soft, savory interior!
