Firm tofu – 1 block (cut into long strips)
Oil – for deep frying
Chili oil – 2 tbsp
Toasted sesame seeds – 1 tbsp
Ground pepper – 1 tsp
Chili powder – 2 tbsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Hot oil – 3 tbsp
Prepare the Tofu:
Slice firm tofu into long, even strips. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Fry the Tofu:
Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry the tofu strips until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Season the Tofu:
In a large bowl, add the fried tofu strips. Pour in 2 tablespoons of chili oil.
Add Dry Spices & Sesame:
Sprinkle over 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon of pepper powder, 2 tablespoons of chili powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
Finish with Hot Oil:
Pour in 3 tablespoons of hot oil to activate the spices and coat the tofu evenly. Toss everything together until each piece is coated.
Serve:
Enjoy hot and crispy! Best eaten fresh as a snack or appetizer.
