280g whole milk
40g sugar
20g corn oil
30g cornstarch
150g glutinous rice flour
Shredded coconut (for coating)
Combine Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, combine 280g milk, 40g sugar, 20g corn oil, 30g cornstarch, and 150g glutinous rice flour. Stir until the mixture is completely smooth and lump-free.
Cook the Dough:
Pour the mixture into a non-stick pan. Turn the heat to the lowest setting and stir constantly. Cook until the mixture thickens and forms a smooth, soft dough. This should take about 5–8 minutes.
Cool and Shape:
Once the dough is cool enough to handle, divide and roll it into small bite-sized balls using your hands.
Coat in Coconut:
Roll each dough ball in shredded coconut until evenly coated. This gives the glutinous balls a fragrant, snowy-white finish and adds texture.
Serve:
Enjoy immediately or chill for a firmer bite. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Tips:
For a flavor twist, add a few drops of vanilla or pandan extract to the dough.
You can stuff each ball with a small piece of fruit, sweetened red bean paste, or custard for an extra surprise inside.
